Built from the questions journalists keep asking
Veruno gathers verification groundwork in one place, so the people who know the story can make the call.
Who’s behind Veruno
Octavian Andrei Cincă
Founder · Independent researcher, Romania
Works on editorial verification systems and carried out the research Veruno is built on.
Why it exists
In June and July 2026, 20 interviews with journalists, fact-checkers, researchers and editors in Europe, Africa, South Asia and the United States described the same problem: hours of groundwork before the real checking can start.
The people interviewed are not named.
How it works: triage, not a verdict
Gathers the groundwork
Who else reported a story, whether it was fact-checked, who registered the website and where a photo appeared before.
Links every finding
Each finding links to its source, so you can check Veruno’s own work.
Leaves the call to you
Veruno never says whether a claim is true. The decision stays with the people who know the story.
Principles
- Evidence first; the decision stays with you.
- Every source is linked.
- Signals are hints, never verdicts.
- Uncertainty is stated plainly.
