See where an image appeared before.

Find earlier copies of an image on the web and check it for signs of AI generation, before the photo runs.

What Geo Lens does

  1. Finds earlier copies

Upload an image or paste its address. Pages that show the same picture are listed, identical matches first.

  2. Checks for signs of AI generation

It estimates how likely the image is to be AI-generated: a probability hint to weigh with your other checks.

  3. Checks a video, frame by frame

Your browser takes 8 frames from the clip and only those are checked for signs of AI generation; the video itself is not uploaded.

What you get in the result

  • AI generation

A probability with a plain-language band, labelled as an indicator, not proof.

  • Web matches

Pages that show the same image, each with a link; identical matches first, weaker ones grouped.

  • Earliest seen

How long ago the image first appears among the matches.

  • Detected subject

What the image search recognises in the picture, including well-known landmarks.

What Geo Lens can’t do

Limits

  • Location only for landmarks. It can name recognised places such as famous buildings and monuments, not ordinary streets or landscapes.
  • The AI check is a hint. It is a probability, not proof. Editing, filters and compression can raise it; new generators can slip past it.
  • Content Credentials are only noted. Most platforms remove them, so their absence means nothing on its own.
  • Some formats are not supported. Images in JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB; videos your browser can play. HEIC images are not supported yet.

Questions about Geo Lens

No. Matches show where an image appeared, and the AI estimate is a probability. Neither is a verdict.
